Seismic monitoring is an important addition to any vibration claims control program. Pre-construction surveys and video provide excellent coverage to structures within the buffer zone but what about structures outside the coverage area?
Seismic monitoring assists you in all of these areas:
Seismic monitoring data provides information needed to project vibration to structures outside the buffer zone.
Waiving the standard table of distance for more economical production is allowed by state law with adequate monitoring.
Seismic records are admissable in court under current state law.
Test monitoring allows you to simulate the close proximity of critical structures before actually reaching them.
VCE Inc. has an "in house" calibration center to serve your needs which is located in our Nashville, Tennessee office. We are factory trained and calibrate instruments based on manufacturer's specifications. To ensure accuracy we utilize annually calibrated Bruel & Kjaer calibration equipment. Details regarding the calibration materials are available upon request. Remember, readings that you record on your seismographs cannot adequately protect you from unsubstantiated damage claims if the accuracy is questioned because of an old calibration date.
